Effective August 1, 2001, the DOT has made some changes in its rules regarding alcohol and drug testing procedures. This directly impacts drivers, operators and others whom are in safety sensitive positions. It is important to know that the purpose of this law is to protect the safety of the traveling public.

You can view a copy of the actual rule by going to :

Anger Management

Anger in its purest form is neither good nor bad. It just is. What we do with the anger and how we handle it is what gets us in trouble.

It is impossible to never get angry. Anger is a vital emotion that in many ways is a protective tool for us. The trick is for us to be in control of our anger and not let the anger control us. That is why we use the term anger management.

  • Cognitive restructuring
  • Improved communication skills
  • Psycho-education
  • Homework / skills development
  • Narrative therapeutic approach
  • Involvement of family and/or significant other(s)
  • Referrals to assess for the need of medication management

As part of the treatment process, a thorough bio-psycho-social assessment will be completed. If part of what precipitated your decision to seek help is work or court related, we do formal clinical evaluations with treatment recommendations which are suitable for court and/or employer related issues. Case management services are also available where needed.

Grief and Loss - Including Pet Loss

Image 2

In todays world, we are faced with losses all the time. Not all losses are due to death. Many times there are meta losses. Death can be the ultimate loss. We are not really taught how to deal with death. Each family handles it differently. Each culture also has their own customs in dealing with loss. The grieving process is just that, a process. Rob can help you through the painful journey

Pets are the ultimate in unconditional love. Therefore, it is no surprise that when many of us lose our pets, it can be traumatic. Having also walked that journey, Rob has a unique clinical and personal perspective. Rob is a clinical member of the Association of Pet Loss and Bereavement. He is listed on their website as a Pet Bereavement Counselor. He has also been featured in local newspaper articles and was featured in a story about pet care on Channel 7 in May of 2003.

The Rainbow Bridge Poem

Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
